PHILIPSBURG–Sports coach E.Y. (48) was arrested in his home in Defiance early Wednesday morning on suspicion of sexual abuse and rape of a number of minors, a press release from the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
According to sources young boys were being molested by Emmanuel York, however it seems that they’re trying to make all the York brothers suspects. There is over 40 siblings, but only ONE is involved and implicated in this.
Right now they have all the York males names on the street, and it is evident that Emmanuel has a history of this, he has been implicated before, and certain family members told me to makes sure I posted the correct data- because in St Maarten you are GUILTY until proven innocent.
A house search led by the Judge of Instruction and in presence of the Prosecutor was carried out. Several data carriers were confiscated for further investigation.
E.Y. is being kept in pre-trial detention. As the coach of a sports team, he took care of children and more underage victims have pressed charges against him.
The police Detective Department is carrying out further investigations. In connection with the investigations, no further announcements or comments will be made.
The Daily Herald understands that E.Y., who is believed to hold a government job, was the president of a youth foundation and organised various sports events. It is understood that similar allegations have been made against him in the past.
