THE BROMELIA INVESTIGATION LEADS TO 8 HOUSE SEARCHES ON FRIDAY BY THE LANDS RECHERCHE AND THE KPSM

House searches were conducted on Friday by the RST and KPSM as a part of the ongoing Bromelia money laundering investigation, which was  started in Septmember 2013, when 6 people were arrested for the possession of narcotics, firearms and money.
Although the investigation apparently was unknown by the media, the press release by the Prosecutor’s office Tineke Kamps states that in total 5 houses and 3 buildings were searched. One in French St Martin with the assistance of the Gendarmes.
The house searches were conducted in the area of Point Blanche, Cole Bay and Sucker Garden and in French St Martin.
Police seized several cars and a truck, one man was arrested.
The Bromelia money laundering case began in September of 2013 when the police spotted three vehicles parked suspiciously in the street. There was an odor of marijuana and when the police appproached the vehicles, a large amount of drugs and money were found . Of the 6 men that were arrested as a part of the Bromelia trial, 2 were let go while 4 remain in pre-trial custody. The drugs and money were confiscated.
